Emily has taught modern dance, improvisation, choreography, history, world dance forms, ballet, and dance pedagogy, among others. She h as held the positions of director of Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) School in New York a company she joined in 1984, becoming a principal dancer in 1993 and director of the Cambridge Summer Art Institute in Massachusetts. The Red Sea of Sound Marching Band has received numerous awards and countless recognition for outstanding performances. She has presented her written and creative research at conferences and festivals throughout the United States and internationally in Mexico, Austria. Outlaw is a dancer, choreographer and educator.
